Co-branded Telecom EasyCards

This service turns your phone into a Co-branded Telecom EasyCard and provides you with the most convenient payment tool. You will never have to look for another top-up point  again. Whenever your card runs out of credit, it will automatically top up and complete the transaction, giving you the perfect consumer experience.

Instructions

A Co-branded Telecom EasyCard is a SIM card that functions both as a credit card and an EasyCard. They are jointly issued by the telecom provider, the issuing bank, and the EasyCard Corporation. The main feature of this card is the automatic EasyCard top-up. Once you insert a Co-branded Telecom EasyCard SIM into your phone, it only takes a simple activation procedure and you can start enjoying worry-free payments. When the credit on your card becomes too low for the next payment, NT$500, or multiples thereof, will automatically be added to your Telecom EasyCard, ensuring a smooth and fast consumer experience.
 

Co-branded Telecoms EasyCards are jointly issued by three parties—the telecom providers, issuing banks, and the EasyCard Corporation. At present, the EasyCard Corporation has entered into  agreement with  CTBC Bank and Chunghua Telecom. More banks and telecom providers will be introduced in the near future for an more diversified service.

To Start:
Co-brandedTelecom EasyCards do not require initiation before use. Once the automatic top-up function has been activated, however, it can not be deactivated again. 



Top-up Method and Limits:
The maximum top-up amount is as promulgated by EasyCard Corporation (currently NT$10,000). You can use the following methods to top up:



When you are using an active Co-branded Telecom EasyCard, it will automatically top up NT$500, or multiples thereof, whenever the available credit becomes lower than NT$100. The amount of the automatic top-up and the maximum value are in accordance with relevant legislations and guidelines set up by EasyCard Corporation and issuing banks. Automatic top-ups do not incur any handling fees.



Validity Period:

The validity period of the Co-branded Telecom EasyCard correspond to that of the credit card it is bundled with. When this expires, all EasyCard and automatic top-up functions will also be terminated.

Regulations regarding Co-branded Telecom EasyCards are as follows:


Loss
In the event that your Co-branded Telecom EasyCard should become lost, stolen, or otherwise no longer in your possession, you must notify the issuing bank, or any other organisation appointed by your bank to be notified in case of loss, and suspend the card and its EasyCard automatic top-up function at once.
Please follow the respective loss reporting procedures of your issuing bank as with a conventional credit card. Co-branded Telecom EasyCards are equivalent to registered EasyCards, therefore, all damages incurred within three hours of the loss is borne by the cardholder; all costs thereafter are borne by the EasyCard Corporation. Refunds of any remaining balance will be handled by the issuing bank, which will transfer the remaining balance to the cardholder’s account. Please inquire with your bank for details of refund procedures.

All loss reporting and refunding procedures are in accordance with the respective issuing banks.


Termination
To terminate a Co-branded Telecom EasyCard, the cardholder needs to apply with the original issuing bank and follow the corresponding procedures. This will also terminate the EasyCard and its automatic top-up function. The chip on the SIM card must be kept intact as the SIM needs to be sent back to the issuing bank by registered mail to enter the refunding process of any remaining balance. You should also retain the receipt of the registered mail for tracking. The refund procedures of Co-branded Telecom EasyCards are in accordance with the regulations of the issuing banks.

Card Cancellation and Refund
If your Co-branded Telecom EasyCard is still within its validity period but you no longer wish to use the EasyCard function and want a refund, you can choose from the following options: 

1. Cash Refund

(SIM exterior and function are intact) The cardholder may present the SIM along with valid personal identification at any EasyCard Customer Service Center to apply for a refund. The full amount of the remaining balance will be refunded in cash, minus a handling fee for the contract termination. Once these procedures have been completed, you will no longer be able to use the EasyCard function of the Co-branded Telecom EasyCard. 
2. Terminating on a Machine
(SIM exterior and function are intact) The cardholder may proceed to any AVM at Taipei Main Station and selected parking facilities, as well as FamiPort at FamilyMart, and follow the instructions on the screen under the “Co-branded/Debit EasyCard Refund”section. Once the process is completed, any remaining credit on the EasyCard will be returned to the user’s registered bank account, and the EasyCard function of the Co-branded Telecom EasyCard will be cancelled.
3. Forward Remaining Balance
You can forward your remaining balance through the forwarding process of your issuing bank. The procedures are in accordance with the regulations of the respective banks. Please contact your bank for details.
4. Refund after Loss
This option is applicable under the conditions of “Loss of Registered Co-branded EasyCard”, and is activated by the issuing bank after the loss has been reported to the EasyCard Corporation. The amount of the refund does not include any damage that occurs within three hours of the loss report. The remaining credit will be transferred to the user’s registered bank account. In the event of an overdraft (i.e. the balance of the EasyCard is negative), this will be also be drawn from the registered account. The refund procedures of the remaining EasyCard balance are in accordance with the regulations of the issuing banks, please contact your bank for details. 

The forwarding procedures for the remaining balance of Co-branded Telecom EasyCards are in accordance with the regulations of the issuing bank. Any remaining balance will be transferred to the cardholder’s registered account.
